1- What is Courier service?

It is a simplified import regime. Goods, to enter under this regime, must not exceed 50 kilograms or be valued at more than U$S 3000.

2- Is it mandatory to be registered as importer-exporter to use the Courier service?

No, it is not mandatory to be registered as importer-exporter to use courier services.

3- Which are the differences between the particular shipment and the commercial shipment?

The particular shipment can be used only five times per year and per person. Moreover, it has a limit in the quantity of goods – each person can bring until three goods of the same kind – and this products cannot have a commercial purpose.

The commercial shipment, instead, has no limits in amount of shipments per year or in the quantity of the goods. This means that it can be used as many times as necessary bringing more than three units of the same kind, not exceeding 50 kg or 3000 dollars. However, products with intervention from Third Bodies may not be admitted under this scheme.

4- What are Third Bodies?

The Third Bodies or Third Previous Intervention Agencies are bodies from de National Public Administration whom have faculties of previous control at the time to import or export goods. Each body work according its specific modality, requirements and procedures to issue certificates. It is essential to consider that there are goods involving more than one body. For these reason is very important to consult with our team about the product you are interested in to verify if it can be admitted under the courier frame.

5- Which are the main Third Bodies in Argentina?

Some of the Third Previous Intervention Agencies are:

      • Servicio Nacional de Sanidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria (SENASA)
      • Administración Nacional de Medicamentos, Alimentos y Tecnología Médica (ANMAT)
      • Instituto Nacional de Alimentos (INAL)
      • Instituto Nacional de Vitivinicultura (INV)
      • Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Industrial (INTI)
6- Can you bring any kind of goods?

No, there is a list of prohibited products that cannot enter under this regime. The following is a non-exhaustive list of some prohibited products. To make sure you can bring the products you are interested in, contact our staff at courier@panamericancargo.com.ar 

        • Goods that require intervention by ANMAT cannot be subject to this regime.
        • Jewelry, valuables: (art objects, precious stones), money
        • Needles or any other type of tattoo making machinery
        • Live or dead animals, human remains, untreated hides and skins, natural plants
        • Firearms or their components, ammunition.
        • Medical/dental articles.
        • Auto parts bearing CHAS certification.
        • Medicines.
        • Counterfeit material “piracy”.
        • Compressed gases, flammable articles, spray paint, tear gas, hair spray, deodorants under the same presentation. Gases (Flammable, non-toxic, non-flammable and toxic).
        • Flammable liquids.
        • Flammable solids.
        • Substances capable of spontaneous combustion.
        • Substances which, in contact with water, may give off flammable gases.
        • Oxidizing substances and organic peroxides.
        • Biological samples, laboratory material.
        • Explosives, toxic products, infectious substances, corrosives, oxidizers, matches.
        • Radioactive material.
        • Drugs, cigars, cigarettes, even electronics.
        • Magnetized material.
        • Liquids and powders in general (except for perfumes which may include up to 3 units in the same order).
        • Used goods or products.
        • Cold cuts, sausages, seeds and fruits.
        • Flowers, honey, mother-of-pearl and flowers.
        • Works of art.
